Women in Renewable Energy (WiRE) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering women and underrepresented groups in the energy sector. For over a decade, Founder, President & CEO Joanna Osawe has driven the organization's growth and impact.
- History & Membership: WiRE is a nonprofit international organization. It has hosted over 130 networking events with more than 5,600 attendees , and its network reaches over 30,000 professionals worldwide. WiRE is powered by a network of 150+ volunteers worldwide.
- Goals & Scope: Our mission is to advance the role and recognition of women and underrepresented groups in the energy sector. We also support energy initiatives and projects that aim to improve the quality of life for everyone. WiRE operates on a "Glocal" philosophy, think global, act local, through a global network of chapters, allowing it to tailor solutions to local contexts.

Women in Renewable Energy (WiRE) is dedicated to advancing the role and recognition of women and underrepresented groups in the energy sector through a "Glocal" philosophy, thinking globally and acting locally through a worldwide network of chapters. Core Working Groups and Committees
WiRE's operations are supported by a network of 150+ volunteers worldwide organized into various committees. These groups are open to highly motivated, educated, and passionate WiRE volunteers.
- Advisory Committee: Volunteers who offer dedication and time to support WiRE's mission and goals.
- Academic Committee: Manages events and relations with WiRE's student chapters, integrating them into the mission of recognition, education, and empowerment.
- Communications Committee: Manages social media, promotes events, manages the monthly newsletter, and engages with the community.
- Data & Special Projects Committee: Focuses on survey data management, network parsing, and understanding the collective experience of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in the energy sector.

- Energize Equity Report: The Energize Equity initiative, spearheaded by WiRE, is a campaign designed to illuminate the barriers faced by individuals, particularly women and underrepresented individuals, working in the climate sector. This includes gathering information via the Energize Equity Survey, sharing stories, and compiling and sharing analytics from the collected data.
- "Fresh Air Fresh Food" (In Development): WiRE is currently in the works for a report or initiative titled "Fresh Air Fresh Food".
- COVID Report: WiRE published a report focusing on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the sector.
