Short Bio
- Dr. Salwa Mohamed El-Samanoudy is an electrical power engineer with over 14 years of experience in evaluating power project performance and planning energy systems.
- For the past five years, she has served as a Senior Technical Studies and Planning Engineer at the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC).
- Her expertise includes the review and structuring of power purchase agreements (PPAs), renewable energy integration, and the development of key regulatory frameworks, including those for inverter-based resources and energy storage systems.
- Dr. El-Samanoudy participates in drafting private-to-private (P2P) contract documents as a first step towards electricity market liberalization.
- Additionally, she actively collaborated with Danish experts in constructing new regulatory chapters in Egypt’s grid code, including specialized sections for energy storage systems and HVDC transmission, helping to align Egypt’s grid with evolving international standards.
- She holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Power Engineering from Al-Azhar University, with a research focus on the impact of renewable energy integration into power networks, and a Master’s degree from Ain Shams University focusing on wind energy utilization.
- Internationally, Dr. El-Samanoudy is also one of the World Energy Council’s Future Energy Leaders (FEL) alumni, where she was the first woman to represent Egypt in the FEL Program.
- Dr. El-Samanoudy achieved the Certified ReGrid® Manager credential and a Green Banking Certificate in Green Energy and Climate Finance through RENAC (Renewables Academy, Germany).
- She has participated in various global energy events and has authored several technical papers on renewable energy systems and voltage stability.

In July 2025, a World Energy Council initiative focused on leadership, inclusion, and collaboration in Africa’s energy sector, engaging policymakers and experts.

- Participant, 24th World Energy Congress – Abu Dhabi, UAE
Participated in the 24th World Energy Congress, held from 9–12 September 2019 under the theme “Energy for Prosperity.” The congress brought together over 15,000–18,000 participants from approximately 146 countries, focusing on global energy transitions, innovation, and sustainable energy solutions.

Participated in World Energy Week from 8 to 11 October 2018, engaging with global energy leaders on energy transition pathways, sustainability, and future energy systems.
