Short Bio
Nawal Alhanaee is the Director of the Future Energy Department at the UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure. She leads national and international initiatives on clean energy transition, with expertise spanning renewable energy, hydrogen, smart energy systems, and energy policy innovation.
With more than two decades of experience across government, infrastructure, and energy systems planning, she has played a central role in shaping the UAE Energy Strategy 2050 and the National Hydrogen Strategy 2050. Her work focuses on enabling future-ready energy systems through integrated policy, digital innovation, and cross-sectoral collaboration.
Nawal is an active contributor to global energy dialogue, capacity building, and mentoring, with a strong commitment to empowering women and youth in the energy transition. She regularly engages in international platforms, supporting knowledge exchange between the MENA region and global partners to accelerate climate action and sustainable development.
